  14. This version of the MacRecorder driver is compatible with System 7.0 and 7.0.1
  15. It also is compatible with the QuickTime system extension 1.0
  16. It fixes a previous incompatibility with the Shiva Net Modem system extension.

  18. • To install: First remove any old version of the MacRecorder driver from your
  19. System folder. With system 7.0 or later, look in the Extensions folder within
  20. your System folder. Then drag this version of the driver into your System
  21. folder and restart your computer.

  23. Other tips for using MacRecorder with new machines:
  24.  
  25. • When using a Mac Portable or PowerBook, you must turn off Virtual Memory.
  26. • On the Mac Portable, it is also recommended that you disable the Sleep mode.
  27. • On a Quadra, it may be necessary to turn off the ‘040 Cache mode using the
  28. Cache Switch utility (Look for this CDEV/system extension on the system 7.0.1
  29. “TidBits” disk.).
  30. • On a Quadra 900, you will need to use Apple's new 'Serial Switch' version 1.1
  31. or later (formerly 'IIfx serial switch') and set to 'compatible'.
